Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills, stains) in one time without having to swap out devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For example, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only issue it has is that it can smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station has a handy LCD screen that indicates the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and washing the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is capable of running for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. This year's model has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might be unable to pick up.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, determining if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction automatically and clean them without stumbling.
It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.
The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount itself to wash manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for pads. The X40 is also very quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. The robot can also reach under furniture with low profile, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.
In contrast to other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is user-friendly and simple to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It is also possible to alter suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to clean and has many convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a fantastic feature since it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a great method of keeping your home cleaner for longer.
There's cheap robot vacuum cleaner of settings on offer which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or direct buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also comes with several features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white colors that is elegant and stylish. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels robust and well built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
